  12. VideoArchiv v3.0BETA
  13. There  it is: the first  preview of  VideoArchiv v3.0. A  lot of new func-
  14. tions, enhanced graphical interface, and, and, and...
  15. Now we  need  some really  hardcore-Beta-Testers  who  like to  test every
  16. function of the program. Try everything: Try  to load a corrupt file, del-
  17. ete a required data and look how the program does react, ...
  18. In short: try to do every (ugly) thing and tell us about your results.

  20. What's missing in this BETA-Release (ToDo):
  21. - no printings
  22. - some preference settings will not take effect
  23. - locale - catalogs won't be supported now
  24. - no documentation included
  25. - certain <Are you sure?>-Requesters
  26. - GUI is going to be changed again slightly
  27. - ...

  29. Everything else should (SHOULD) work fine.  Now it's your turn to find the
  30. bugs that are still existing (if there are any :-)) or to make some propo-
  31. sals what could be done better or just to write me  any  comment about the
  32. program (even  if you only  want to tell me  that you dislike the  default
  33. colors..). Just write!

  67. About VideoArchiv
  68. -----------------
  69. The idea which made us programming  VideoArchiv was to eventually create a
  70. simple, but  altough powerful  video-database. It never  was  our goal  to
  71. develop a program  that «can do everything». VideoArchiv  wants  to be the
  72. clearest,the most comprehensible and the easiest to use video-database for
  73. the Amiga, which  with everyone  can work at once  and  for ever. Programs
  74. that  strikes you  dead with masks and  setups  and that  must  be arduous
  75. edited by  the User  himself are  already  available. Somebody  who simply
  76. wants to manage his collection of videos needs a program  which is specia-
  77. lized on videos - like VideoArchiv :-)
  78. That we have reached  this goal we can read  out of the numerous positives
  79. answers we received on our first releases of VideoArchiv. Altough we won't
  80. be lazy. We want VideoArchiv to get still more powerful in future, without
  81. ever breaking «the rules of easyness and clarity». And that's what we need
  82. your help for: Tell us about the program  the things you  like, the things
  83. you dislike, the elements you miss, the elements you think are unnecessary
  84. or whatever you want  to tell us.

  87. Features of the VideoArchiv v3.0
  88.  - Every film can be defined by the following criterions:
  89.     · Title
  90.     · Original Title
  91.     · Year
  92.     · Number (any code)
  93.     · Lenght
  94.     · SP/LP
  95.     · Genre
  96.     · Regie
  97.     · Actors
  98.     · Description (or whatever you want to write here.. much plain space.)
  99.     · Technical Info: PAL/PAL+/NTSC... Stereo/DSP/THX... VHS/Hi8/DVD...
  100.  - Search: you can search  in every criterion (for example the program can
  101.    list up every film which is directed by Steven Spielberg)
  102.  - Filmlist can be sorted by every criterion in both directions
  103.  - Supports user-defined names- and genre-lists, so you don't have to type
  104.    them in again and again (once defined - always available!)
  105.  - Possibility to lend a film (program saves the name and the date)
  106.  - Different print modes (also in combination with the search-function)
  107.  - Own, beautiful and  easy to  use GUI (Graphical User Interface). Have a
  108.    look at it and enjoy!
